Motherhood Photography : My Journey
When I first picked up my camera, I thought I would always be a lifestyle family photographer. Capturing the big picture of families together, all the laughter, play, love, felt natural. But over time, something began to shift.
At the Elena S. Blair Mastermind retreat, I was first introduced to the idea of motherhood photography by the very talented Casey Louise Thornton. She shared her heart for documenting not just families as a whole, but the unique bond between mothers and their children. We went on a photo walk, and I watched the way she highlighted those small, fleeting moments. The way a mama tucks a strand of hair behind her baby’s ear, the way little hands reach up for comfort, the way a mother’s eyes soften when she looks at her child.
When I came home, I decided to give it a try. I put out a few model calls, just to experiment. What I found was undeniable. This was the work I was meant to be doing.
It clicked for me because of my years as a nanny. I’ve spent so much of my life alongside mothers and children, and I’ve seen how beautiful, exhausting, tender, and sacred those everyday moments are. With my camera in hand, I realized I could capture that truth in a way that lasts forever.
Now, I’m here in Phoenix, offering motherhood photography sessions ! From maternity to newborn to those everyday golden hour moments in the desert. My passion is giving mamas timeless images that remind them how loved, strong, and radiant they are in this season of life.
If you’re a mama in Phoenix, Scottsdale, or the surrounding valley I’d love to capture your motherhood story.
